Conditions and Terms of Use of Computers in the Library Use of the public computer workstations is subject to adherence to the Ellensburg Public Library’s Rule of Conduct: “Due to the nature of the library, we expect patrons to conduct themselves in a manner that does not interfere or interrupt others working in the library. We appreciate your consideration for our library environment." Adopted by the Library Board

  • Sessions are normally one hour per day and one session per day. More time may be permitted if computers are available. The reservation system permits more time in 10 minute increments, up to 40 extra minutes per day.

  • Printing is $.10 per page and is paid at the print release station before printing is done.

  • Files may be saved to your own personal media only. IE persons may use their own floppy disk, zip drive or USB drive. Persons are not allowed to save to the computer hard drive. Floppies are available at the circulation desk for $1.00.

  • Children 8 years old and younger must have a parent/guardian present and ready to assist them at the computer. Children over 8 years old must have an Internet Use Consent Form signed by a parent or guardian on file with the library. Those over 15, with ID, do not need parental permission.

  • No illegal or obscene materials may be accessed as defined in Wash. RCW Chapters 9.68 and 9.68a. Use of the Internet in the library is a service to the public and inappropriate use will result in a suspension of this privilege. Display of pornographic images is not appropriate use of library computers and is disruptive to others using the library and to staff working in the area. It is expected that users will not access or display these sites.
