2023 Public Works Projects

The City of Ellensburg will be resurfacing downtown City streets this summer with the installation of an asphalt slurry seal and new painted parking lot street markings. The project will include Fourth Avenue from Water Street to Ruby Street and Pearl and Pine Streets from Third Avenue to Fifth Avenue. As previously discussed by City Council, any downtown streateries will need to be temporary removed prior to planned work in the City right-of-way.

In coordination with the Ellensburg Downtown Association, the City of Ellensburg has selected the following possible dates for this project; June 26, July 3, or July 10, 2023. City streets in the work area will be closed to all access from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to complete the work on the selected construction date. More details will be available when a final schedule is determined, and weather conditions are favorable for the project. Streateries will need to be removed before work starts on June 26 and can be reinstalled immediately following completion.

The City will also grind and overlay Main Street (from 3rd Ave. to University Way) and Wildcat Way (University Way to 18th Ave.). This project will mostly be done at night, so it has a reduced impact. All work is planned for this summer.
